Battery was low on the sds 100 while in my truck, plugged it in to charge, while on, and I got a message on the screen saying, low USB bus voltage. I’ve charged my scanner in my truck before and never seen this . Anybody know ?
I use the stock cord that came with itI have had to send in a 100 to Uniden to replace a bent USB pin.
Maybe get out the magnifiers and look real close.
Oh, this is assuming that the cord being used is the stock Uniden, or a cord with AWG24 power wires?
You think the battery is shot ?I guess it's time for a new battery.
Apparently. Yes, since you've tried everything else. You think the battery is shot ?
10-4, thanks, I’ll try a new oneApparently. Yes, since you've tried everything else.
Yeah it was just once.First, how many times have you gotten that Low warning? Just once may be a fluke…
Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I went into the settings, and enabled the charge while on, feature.
What? A suggestion; Since I’ve never seen a concern about the size of a USB charging/programming cable when used to charge a battery, it would be nice if you specified the gauge wire, shielded or not sheileded, etc. you recommend instead of simply stating “Make sure your cable is heavy enough…” what do you think we are charging here, a 12 volt lead acid auto battery?Make sure your cable is heavy enough to support charging and scanning. This is especially true if the battery is low and needs more current.
