I am having issues with my SDS 100. I am trying to monitor a simulcast system in the Bay Area and when I lock in on a channel, it seems like it’s clipping the transmissions and I do not hear a response or the first part of a conversation, I got this SCANNER thinking that it was supposed to take care of Simon issues as opposed to the Whistler Scanners am I doing something wrong as well or is there a firmware update that can be made like I said I recently recently purchased the SCANNER in August 2024 is there any assistance out there? Thank you. Oh by the way, it was programmed with two counties by SCANNER masters so should I ask them about my situation?

Please read post #9 above.

Also, how many sites are you scanning?
You need to determine this and you need to also look at what your range is set at.
Easier to Read SDS100/200 Digital Scanner Manual

Remember each site takes a certain amount of time and if scanning many sites, you will miss traffic - or miss parts of transmissions because the radio was on another site.

"The more you scan, the less you hear"

I checked the close call and then I noticed a WX on the lower right corner. I am visually impaired so I totally missed it and I was messing around with the weather. Long story short. I went to weather operations and it looked like weather priority was on. I made sure it was off and the WX disappeared and the scanner seems to be doing great right now. Thank you. Thank you very much for your help.

Yes, as you can see (don't worry, I'm partially blind, myself!), the various Priority settings can affect your scanner's operation. Unless in Do Not Disturb (DND) mode, the various Priority, including WX (weather) Priority, and Close Call, causes the scanner to briefly check the channels used in these modes, and interrupt reception of what you're trying to listen to at the time. (DND doesn't interrupt what you're listening to, and only checks when you're not on an active channel.) These modes tend to be the primary culprits for choppy reception, just as what you described.

Happy listening! 😌

Look around you, do you see a cell tower? Verizon 700 has been known to cause interference on my SDS00, Unication G4 and other devices.
I typically need to be fairly close for this to happen but none the less it happens.
Wow, I have a Verizon 5G tower literally 100 yards from my residence (the one on the north side of the CCI golf course) and my SDS100 runs like a champ on MESA (Indianapolis public safety P25 (Phase 1) simulcast system).

Also, you can have both versions of Sentinel installed and running at the same time.
