After opening the scanner when it was not working because of CSJ. I found the problem to be loose connection to speaker with copper termails touching them. after re-install and making a better connection with them problem gone. What i found was there are two connectors on the board that touch the speaker and after lifting them to make a better connection every thing is working fine now. Found no bad cold soder joints after opening up the scanner. I Hope this info helps, if you want to try and fix this yourself. I was going to seen my scanner in but wanted to see if I could fix this problem my self. Its not very difficult to do but be carefull of the board and circuits after opening. you will see two arms on the board that touch the speaker, this is what i found was the problem, after pushing them out the scanner is working like new. just my two cents on this amazing scanner.

By all means, should something like this happen again, please try to take pictures so that others can become familiarized with the problem in the event they run into the same issue. If you've taken some pics, please post them.

Everything was working fine and then it started making this noise and stopped scanning. I did some research on this and from what others have said with their SDS-100 they believe it was a bad cold Solder joint. One video on here shows exactly what my scanner was doing. I didn’t know if I could fix this but wanted to take a look before sending it out. There is two silver plates on the main board that touch the speaker on the front of the scanner. After pushing them out very little bit to get a better connection with the speaker everything started working again. Sorry I didn’t get any pictures because I didn’t think it was going to work.
