Anyone have good luck with SDS 200 in NC? I have a SDS 100 and it works great in Cleveland County for the simulcast here. I am moving to Lincoln county soon and thinking of upgrading my 536HP for a SDS 200. I am hoping to pick up Cleveland from where I will live in Lincoln, as I hear the SDS 200 has great reception.

My SDS 200 works great monitoring the Charlottte Mecklenburg UASI P25 simulcast system. My other scanner, a BCD996XT does not handle that system well at all.
Yes both work great . I love my sds100 .I got the sds200 and I was very unhappy with it so I sent it back . It the same scanner . But just a base scanner with several problem and you have to spend $100.00 more . Finally there is a scanner that we can hear Charlottte Mecklenburg UASI P25 simulcast system. I am so happy it was worth the money to get the sds100. I tryed my sds100 with amazon for 30 days if you did not like it you can send it back .You could do that with the sds200 . I did not have to pay tax on mine . It was $650.00 for my scanner .

Soundman, thank you for the info but I am a little confused. You said both work great then you said you were very unhappy with the SDS200. I am thinking of buying a 200 so I am wondering if you liked it or not? If not, what did you not like? I am in Greenville, NC.

I used an SDS200 over the summer months, mostly on local systems in the Asheville area. I have monitored the Asheville and Buncombe county systems, as well as the Blue Ridge parkway and statewide VIPER systems without issue. It also seems to work pretty well on the AM aircraft frequencies.
Sorry Bill . The sds200 has some problem .You may get a good one or you may get a bad one . I got a bad one . The keypad does not light up well . There is a buzzing problem . You can't see the screen well . I had a problem using a ex speaker when the dispatch ends I got a pop . I was not happy with the base unit .
