I keep seeing this on internet sales, is there a newer or second version of this scanner?

Thx

No just a second batch that applies the hardware fix for the hum, nothing else changed

Has this been confirmed and if so was it by Uniden or just an assumption?

Paul’s been a bit busy but I haven’t heard a thing other than what Universal told me when I bought mine

I just checked Universal Radio's site and there is no mention of a v 2, nor is there any mention that they are shipping the lastest production or at least previous versions with the fix performed. I'm going back to bed.

I went in person, we discussed it at length and opened the box before I bought it, hooked it up and listened, that’s when he mentioned it to me

The only difference is that all SDS200s coming out of the factory have the part we released to reduce hum already installed. If anyone were to purchase an older one, they can get the part for free and install it.

So straight from Uniden Support has said that the part only reduces the hum noise but does not get rid of the noise. So if anybody is buying the SDS-200 they are all made the same. No internal parts have been replaced or a version 2 hardware fix has been done. The radios will all still have a hum noise. The part only helps reduce the hum buts its still noticeable and annoying.

I don’t know why it’s so difficult for people

I already own a SDS100 and a SDS200 that has the hum problem. And yes I have installed the Uniden part that took care of the loud hum. I'm just waiting to buy my second SDS200 that has the problem fixed without a piece of metal stuck between the display and the chassis.

Like I haven't been saying the same thing every time somebody wants a 2nd shipment. It's the same radio as the 1st shipment albeit with noise mediation and new firmware. There is no change in production or some new version.

Upman said there may never be a "fix" per se other than the mediation of noise they have already done. And no I'm not searching the forums to find it for you. Read the forums for yourself.
