SDS Purchase/Hum Issue

I was planning to get a new SDS200. Has the hum issue been fixed on new scanners?

My scanner friend just bought one from "Uniden", there was no hum....But in a weeks time the readout had lines running thru it and it was fading….He asked for a exchange but they said no exchange they would send it for repair, he took his money back...Seems to be a problem now unless your a exception....

Sds200 humming noise

I have two SDS200s and neither have the hum issue. Two friends close by that each bought SDS200s and neither have any hum issue. The problem is definitely in the minority of owners. I have another friend who has one and says it hums but he can't hear it over the noise on his desk so it's not an...

Bought a new SDS200 a month ago and so far no issues with hum or screen issues.

The way their mitigation part is pressed down by the case, to make the failed ground connection it's no wonder they are having to replace some displays considering the part relies on pressure to try and get the needed grounding on top of the display. Not a good idea to rely on pressure on top of display as that can't be good for the display.
