Some of my longer transmissions there is a very short stop in the audio and I'm pretty sure it's because of something that I've enabled. Maybe ID search or something of that nature?

It sounds like Close Call or one of the priority modes are turned on. Each of these will cause interruptions in the received signal. Check to see if you have any of these turned on:
Priority & CC are what I expected.....I do have CC enabled and just wanted to verify that was probably the issue (to be expected). I don't have Priority enabled so now I've disabled CC to see if the problem stops (prob will just wanted to verify).....
Great.....do have that enabled and glad to hear that's not the culprit.....I've got a new 100 and just making sure it's not the scanner (didn't think it was just wanted to verify!) Odd......never noticed on my SDS200
It's possible, I know because I've done it, to turn on the Weather Priority in error. As I recall it interrupted receive audio about every three seconds.
