You can get an authentic uniden SDS100 battery and charger on Amazon for $74. The battery by itself is $65. So for an additional $15-$25 you will get authentic rather than a no name. Just search sds100 accessories on amazon.

It sold out. I believe only 20 were available yesterday.
I will keep looking for it. Probably the same battery from the same Chinese factory. Like a lot of other things. Maybe not. Could be better. Japanese cells assembled in Taiwan? I'm sure you will let us know how it goes.

The metal part with electrical tape around it are just a pressfit into the plastic shell. Lift up the end opposit side to the connectors to take a peek at what markings the cells have, if it indeed are Japanese cells. That would then probably be a much better buy than the low quality Chinese ones that Uniden uses.

it says it under 'REPLACEMENT'
Where under “REPLACEMENT” does it say polymer? All I see is li-ion. While we are on the subject… Uniden’s battery is labeled li-ion polymer but I believe that is wrong. There are li-ion batteries and li-polymer batteries, not li-ion-polymer batteries. Uniden uses a li-polymer single cell battery, as stated in RR WiKi. So, I’m confused, is it a miss-labeling if the Uniden offering or is there such a thing is a li-ion-polymer battery? The WiKi articles go further, explaining the differing characteristics, a li-ion compared to a li-polymer.
