Also a note from UPMan on charging while in the radio:

"For SDS100, 100% charge current is 700 mA. Constant voltage is 4.2V.

So, charges at 700mA until battery voltage reaches 4.2V, then constant voltage of 4.2V until charge current < 100mA (then considered fully charged)."

Yes, it's poorly shielded and all kinds of local interferencies goes straight thru the chassi to the circuit board.
Try doing a full spectrum search&store from 25-900MHz and see what it picks up without any antenna.

Do you have a SDS100 or are you just assuming? My guess is that you're are just guessing. Yes or No? Easy question to answer.

So glad I didn't get a Unication. I almost did!
This thing sure looks like the real deal.

Of course the biggest thing is not the radio itself but the paper owners manual :D;)
Thank God I don't have to mod any more threads whining about not having a physical
copy!!

I strongly suspect that the sales of Unication pagers are dropping significantly. Why spend $679 for a device that can only monitor one trunked system at a time, and is limited to two frequency bands, when the SDS-100 is a real scanner that performs comparably receiving simulcast, receives every frequency legally allowed between 25 and 1300 MHz, can monitor multiple trunked systems, decodes a far wider variety of digital formats, and costs less to boot?

And to hopefully have an internal GPS mod :)

The pdf version has been linked several times here and is the same exact thing that is in the box. Feel free to look it over and see if it contains what you are looking for. :)

Happy Birthday. I wasn't going to order the SDS100 until you mentioned that it actually comes with a PAPER owner's manual.

Hope that is what you are looking for.
Beltclip Feels very secure though I will probably pick up a case from ScannerMaster just to give it a little extra cover.

It couldn't be that I'm a few feet shy of over a half of a mile from the tower?
No, it's because it's poorly shielded. What you're touting as a positive is actually a failure. Any nearby noise source will leak through the case, even when an external/outdoor antenna is used.

No need to assume. It's obviously poorly shielded.

Since the soon to be (sometime) new Whistler scanners will have bluetooth wondering if they could link to an external GPS or even link to cellphone GPS.
