Thanks I type other zip codes it opens database n scans there that is so nice when traveling ty for this help and you don't really need GPS long as you know the zip codes where you be traveling just enter them and start listening that easy
As
Don has already noted, changing zip codes while driving can be a safety issue for you and other vehicles sharing the road with you. A GPS takes care of that as you drive, much more accurately than using zip codes.
However, you can create and save addition locations in your Profile as well as on the scanner itself. Create one for your home & save it.
If there are one or more spots that you regularly visit, such as a friend or relative some distance away, in a different state, or any other site you visit often, create locations for those specific areas, which can then be loaded using the scanner's menu. Entering the actual latitude & longitude can be much more accurate than a zip code is, especially in rural areas where a zip code applies to a large area, encompassing more than one county. Granted, if you were traveling to that location by car, using a GPS will keep your actual location being updated seamlessly. But if it's a location that you fly to, as opposed to drive, having the saved location can be more convenient than also packing your GPS with its connecting cables.
There are several smart phone apps, including Global Zip, that can provide your locations exact latitude & longitude.
