I see that if we need repairs to our SDS100 most are sending the unit in to Uniden.
But it’s it possible to find a repair shop locally instead of shipping it out? I think I messed up my charging port when the unit fell while plugged in. It must’ve fallen on the cord and port cause it looks a bit wonky. I’m near San Antonio.

Uniden is near Dallas. Either way, you're still looking at a C-note repair expense, whether Uniden does it or a neighbourhood repair shop.

The advantage to having Uniden handle the repair is that besides dealing with the port issue, if the Uniden tech notices, during an inspection of the unit, anything else that is not quite right, that will also be addressed as part of the repair, without adding an additional cost. There is a warranty on the repair work, I believe default 90 days.
