A few questions here, I owned two SDS100s, and I loved them for the digital capabilities, and the performance on trunked systems, however I absolutely went bananas with conventional frequencies, especially on railroad, maritime, aviation monitoring with the SDS100 was pretty decent, now for a few questions, I seen so many posts, and reviews across the internet that I have more questions than solid answers I need to have a clear understanding on before I go dropping $1,100+ on something I'll regret, which is hard for me to say, Uniden has won me over from other manufacturers.

First: Does the 150 do better on simulcast than the 150 or are they both pretty even performance, again, as I said, the 100 was perfect in this field (atleast for my money) not sure how they could improve on that, but they may also have gone backwards.

Second: I seen as of late P25 (and I think a few other various formats) have started with TDMA sites, does the SDS150 track this feature, what about the SDS100 (I figured it would just be a firmware update).

Next: Has the SDS150 improved in the conversational fields, or is it pretty much identical to the SDS100 in this regard?

Finally: Aside from the obvious standard features on both models, is there anything else in the operation that makes the 150 a better option aside from it being the newest product from Uniden?

Feel free to mention anything relevant to any of this that I may not have asked about, again, I'd love to get a 150 because of drop in charging and so forth, my main concern is out of the box performance, I'm well aware of additional antennas and so forth will add range and performance increases in specific areas.

Thanks for any information that is given.

I was just wondering if there was more definitive answers now that people had time to really try these 150s out

I just purchased a SDS150 and I find no appreciable difference between it and my SDS100.

I actually like the SDS100 better - and feel that it is actually a better built scanner.

This obviously only represents my opinion, but to any perspective buyers, I would seriously contemplate it before purchasing this scanner.

battery issues and broken battery doors on the 100 sucked. They fixed that on the 150. I definitely hear farther on the 150 and the gps and Bluetooth are nice bonuses if you were to buy a gps kit for the 100 its almost as much just in that. I think its the same with conventional. I really like the upgrades

I'm not going to argue or even discuss whether the 100 or 150 is a "better" scanner as it all boils down to personal opinion and what features one might think is worth or not worth it. I've previously mentioned what features of the 150 I personally like, but to each their own and, fortunately, not everyone is me so they are entitled to different opinions :) However, I will say the comment about seriously contemplating it before purchasing should apply to any major purchase, especially something like the 150 that costs in the neighborhood of a thousand dollars (US). That's a lot of money!

I had a post in this thread that was erased and I would like to know why.

I used the word vociferous in a review and got hacked by it. Now it is gone.
