I currently own a BCD325P2. I live in Lubbock, Texas and the 325 does not handle the Simulcast very well. I hate to be out an additional $700, but it looks like the SDS100 will be the better choice. Im wondering about a "trade in", military discounts, etc.? Any insights?

Try Main Trading Company (MTC radio) they are in Texas and they do accept trade ins. Good people to do business with and shipping is free over $100.00

While some retailers offer trade-ins I would suggest trying to sell it outright, you are likely to get substantially more for it that way.
