Well idid the updates and it down loaded the system i was asked to put in. Now I have an error code I can't get rid of it says database read error citytablev1.00.dat in SD card

All I get now is SD error use sentinel clear user data operation to initialize SD card how the sentinel software won't let me do that. I think it might need a new SD card .I can't update the scanner at.this scanner is the biggest piece of junk uniden screwed up good. Anybody here help me before I thrash this thing

Instead of zip code you can enter a city to set the location coordinates, but for some reason that feature isn't available in x36 and SDS scanners, AFAIK, but it is available in a HP1 scanner but still have that old firmware code lingering in all those new scanners that checks that the city table are still readable and intact.

Format the SD card, it's probably ok after a reformat, and download the database again that also include a 10 year old city table, and select clear user data in Sentinel and program the scanner.

Format the card in your card reader using this utility that Uniden recommends:

Then use Sentinel's clear user data, check the box that says "display all drives" so that the SD card will show up in the window.

In the Profile Editor, check that Custom 1 service type is enabled.

Well I want to say thanks for all the help with this problem I took it to friend of mine he fixed the sd card issue and then programmed it for me.works great and thanks again for all your help

about 10 years ago i was working to update a 396T.
i had some trouble.
the wife stepped in to help.
i told her what i was doing and she basically did the same thing.
it worked for her. no rhyme or reason.
just a new set of eyes can do it.
now,
