Installed aware app and got fine at the race track listening to track officials although I would like more volume. I am listening through my VA issued hearing aids. Today I could get the app to come up so I uninstalled it but didn't help. With my sds150 on I could here the scanner through my hearing aid and my phone is shut off .Samsung Galaxy S25. What is the advantage of having the app? I don't know would happen if a person had a set of ear pods, would possibly need your phone blue tooth activated. How do you update the app? Also the connection has timed out??

When using the app you will get audio from both the scanner and your phone (or bluetooth device paired to your phone.) I turn the volume all the way down on the scanner then open the app.

I usually use the app when doing chores around the house and just leave both the scanner and phone on the charger while wearing EarPods or in my car so I can control the volume via car radio controls.

If the app doesn’t auto update you should be able to check for and install updates from the app store like any other app.

Every now and then the app freezes on the loading screen or while trying to connect to the scanner. I just close and reopen the app and ir works fine.

Never had it timeout while connected. It doesn’t have a short range so your phone has to be close ro the scanner… i want to say 5 feet but not positive on the exact range.

Is the firmware up to date on the SDS 150? If your scanner isn't too far from your phone when it says connection lost, try unpairing the scanner from the app and re-pair. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what the issue would be.

Get it online now. Updated app, unpaired BT and it worked??? My phone and scanner were within 6" of each other.

The Bluetooth range on the SDS150 is unfortunately poor. I can't get more than about 12 feet without issues.

I hope they can improve this with a firmware update.

I've been leaving my phone near the scanner ( same room anyways ), and using my bluetooth headphones. They have a far better range - at least the standard 30 foot range - sometime better.

I mostly use U/Aware in my vehicle. The phone is only two feet away from the scanner there, and the audio over the vehicle system is very nice.
