Any ideas or suggestions on why a 200 would all of sudden start having a lot of static on vhf hi frequencies while scanning Illinois Starcom

THANK YOU

If the system is programmed as a trunked system like it should be then you shouldn't be hearing "static" at all regardless of how low the squelch is set. Something's probably up with your programming. Zip up & post your Sentinel .hpe export so we can have a look

What part of Starcom is VHF high? Looks like 700 & 800 MHz to me

Have problems with older computer unable to use Sentinel at this time.
You should be able to use Sentinel. Sentinel targets the .NET Framework 2.0 so it will work with Windows XP and above.
Probably the issue is, 2.0 framework is bundled into the .NET 3.5 feature so the .NET Framework 3.5 has to be enabled like in this image.

Are the VHF frequencies ID'ed in the RRDB & if so can you provide the link(s)? You're sure you're hearing static & not raw data emissions like DMR or NXDN?
Still might help to be armed with this info & your monitoring location @flborror so we can get eyes on the database or FCC search to get a clearer picture of the specific frequencies you're having trouble bringing in. DMR or NXDN emissions can be mistaken as "static" if your scanner doesn't have the paid upgrades to be able to decode them

If it all of sudden did this then probably some new transmitters started to be in operation that cause interference, if your antenna are still functioning as it should.

On those channels with static you could try to make a hold on that frequency, or entered it manually to the display by Channel+frequency+Channel, and then do Function+7 to toggle IFX on.

For that departments filters setting, or if that filter are set to Global to instead go to the scanners Menu/Settings and Global Auto Filter, and try different settings, Off-Normal-Invert-Wide Normal-Wide Invert, to see if any of those help. If you receive those channels with a high signal strength 4 or 5 bars then also try to set the Attenuator to On by making a hold on the channel and then do Function+4.
