Note that you don't need a scanner connected to play with Sentinel, so don't let the lack of a scanner stop you from learning

Most, if not all of what you need is located on site 4...800 MHz Simulcast. There is a handful of FD stuff off the 700 MHz simulcast.

The systems are pretty potent signal wise, as I get them full scale on the other side of the sound, but then again I am using an ASPD 952 commercial antenna cut for 800 MHz

It looks like the 700 West Simulcast and 800 Simulcast sites will be the ones you need. I will include all 7 sites in the file in case they are needed depending upon your location. It will take a while. I will attach the file when completed.

Here is your Suffolk County hpe favorites list file. This is only the trunked system. There are no conventional frequencies. Go to the Tools tab in Sentinel and set the Target Model to SDS200. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Go to the File tab in Sentinel and Import from hpe file (Favorites List). Click on New Favorites List and name it Suffolk Co NY Click on OK. In the Downloads folder, Open the extracted file (Suffolk Co NY.hpe). It will appear as a favorites list in Sentinel. Go to the Edit tab and Edit Profile. Under the Service Types tab, make sure Custom 1 service type is enabled. Go to the Scan Selection tab. Download and Monitor should both be On for the favorites list. Close the Profile Editor and save it. Go to the Scanner tab and Write to Scanner. Only the 800 Simulcast and 700 West Simul sites will be scanning. The other sites can be enabled using quick keys. Quick keys as follows:

Go to youtube and watch the sentinel videos until you have a good understanding of the software. Study, Study, Study!
Experiment until you find what works best, avoid big lists and too many sites.

I have an interesting add on from one county over. First off Sentinel is awesome! I was using BuTel to manage my 996XT and I thought that was easy! This is much easier.

My issue is with the Nassau P25 system-- as we all know most of the system is AES so nothing to hear there but EMS and Fire have some TGs on the system that are not AES-- I can tune to the talk groups and hear Medial Control and the Fire Marshal but it doesn't pick up the transmissions when scanning. I don't have them on "Avoid" (old school me want to say lock out). Any suggestions?
