Update: I can get a signal between 155.9975 and 156.0025, but only if I remove the antenna and install a terminator on the antenna port. If I do that, I get a faint signal (about -111dBm) that's just enough to break squelch. So there is a little something there, but atmospheric noise picked up by a Diamond RH77CA (-104dBm) drowns it out thoroughly.

Mine indicates -111 dBm as well.

Put that one in Tone Search and watch for a detected tone to display when they are talking. As long as it makes it over the birdie, that may work and allow you to monitor that channel.
This is how I discovered the issue in the first place :LOL: The hours and hours of recordings of open squelch.
The Ch was historically for PD use and the tone was 71.9 but when the P25 came online it's useage by PD stopped. I was just trying to see if it was still in use for another purpose, but I think not..
