Rick, I was wondering if you heard fire traffic and thought they said
Map Page when they actualy said MED PAGE.

Well i only ask because your one of several people who have asked me about this today, so when I heard the call go out today, I heard MED Page and a series of numbers after the call. Im thinking you maybe hearing the MED PAGE case tracking numbers.

Are MED PAGE case tracking numbers in numerical order. The numbers I heard were four digit and were not in order. I tried to get on the internet scanner tonight to check, but of course it would be down when I need it.

Im not sure, I do believe they are for tracking cases for each EMS outpost or Fire Station Paramedics calls for the year or quarter. I'll have to ask around to see how it works in Sedgwick. I very seldom listen to Fire or EMS unless I physicaly come across a scene.

Update

Have been listening this afternoon. Map Page is not used on all calls, but did hear Squad 11 sent on a medical call. Last part of the transmission was Map Page 5544.

Another call, fire with Qunit 19 and they received a map page of 5446.

Squad 9 on a difficulty breathing map page 5848

OK, finally got an address 5505 West Kellogg. Both FD and EMS received both the address and map page 5146.

Yes the last one I quoted, if you look at the right two pdf maps you can match up 5146 to 5505 West Kellog. If I am right you take the first 2 digits 51 and read the map at the top (North) and the last 2 digits 46 on the left side (West) of a county map and then meet where these two lines cross and you are in a square mile. That square mile would be Map Page 5146.
