I have a homepatrol 1. Have been using it to listen to VHF high and recently, I have stopped hearing several of the channels in one county. I run with the local fire department. And while I can hear everything on my portable for our fireground, not picking anything up on the scanner. Have deleted and re-downloaded from Radio Reference the numbers for the area without success. Even created a new favorite without success. My firmware is up to date as is sentinel. I keyed up my portable and the HP1 didn't detect it though I was standing 10 feet from it. I stopped the scan and put it on that channel and keyed up and heard it. I can hear all of the next county over without any issues. Was working until recent update of the database. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably has a PL/CTSS tone added incorrectly in the DB.

Where are you? Which system?

There is another thread with a possible dB issue near Las Vegas. It might be related to your issue.

I am in Luzerne County, PA. I have viewed the database online and once I import the information. Numbers do match up. Actually considering setting the channels in the county without the CTCSS to see how that works.

OK. All Conventional frequencies. Make sure the Service Type is enabled for the types you want to hear.

All the service types were chosen for what they receive. I went in and cleared all the sol numbers and selected all in the category next to it. Once I cleared those two columns, I am receiving them again. Do the service types have to match to receive them? If they are wrong is it like avoiding them?

If a service type is not selected for scanning, then no channel that has that service type will be scanned.

Is AGC set to on? When mine is audio disappears on most frequencies I scan. I noticed it especially impacts frequencies where simulcast could be an issue.
