I'll be spotting/scanning tomorrow so I'll post what I see and hear at the end of the day. Hopefully I'll be able to post some good pics of a/c approaching on rwy19.

FYI The Starfighters canceled their appearance at the airshow.

I'm probably going to be busy all day w/ set-up so I'm sending my brother to RWY1 w/ his camera :)

I was there from 0700 till 2030... almost sunrise to sunset. It was great w/ a constant stream of arrivals. About 800 photos so far. Looks like it's going to be a great show.
Also, one of these guys made a quick stop: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1126855/L/
I was also lucky enough to get on the C-17 for a quick tour :)

Here is the Frequencies I observed on Saturday:

A quick freq post, Airboss is the same freq 128.7, and the Show discrete freq is 123.15 the aerobatic teams use this channel for commands(smoke on/off, pull now, break, etc...). Tin Stix was using this on Saturday.
Golden Knights are on 123.45 (Call-sign Golden Knights Ground/Air)
Tune into 87.9 to hear the airshow commentary better. FYI Sky Soldiers call-sign is Legacy.

I went today (Sunday, July 22). It was ok. I would like to see more modern military planes fly. As most would agree, the F-15E Strike Eagle and the F-18 Super Hornet flight demos were sweet!! I was impressed with the C-17 flight demo.

I agree with you Piston, I've been going to that show for the past 10 years and this one didn't rank up there with the rest. It needed more modern jet demos and really needed one of the Teams there (Blues, T-birds or even Snowbirds). I went Saturday and that C-17 demo was spectacular!!! They were flying that thing like a fighter jet!! Too bad they couldn't get the T-birds there, especially since its the 60th of the Air Force. On Saturday the Fire Department was a little busy at the end after Tin Stix and Rich's Pyro demo, they accidentally set the grass on fire near the runway, and Tin Stix had a tricky landing through all the smoke!

Sounds like everyone still had a good time, unfortunately I couldn't make it over there, were the crowds smaller this year than in years past and did they allow scanners or portable radios on the base?

I was able to get in with my BC780XLT hooked up to a booster pack without any hastles at all, one of the cops at the main enterance asked what it was but didn't do anything when I told him.

The KC-10 left last night after 6pm

The USMC C-130 left at 830 am today, then the BC A-10s left around 0900, and the F-15s and F-18s left around 0930. The USMC Helos left around lunch and the B-52 and C-5 left in the afternoon.

The E-3 is sill chillaxin on the transient ramp.

I agree. Is it just me or does it seem like the commentators did not announce when the performances were comming up? I wonder why they never released a schedule. Well any way, here are some more pics....

The commentators weren't very good. They even made mistakes w/ aircraft types and units. I never like them in the first place anyways.
But friday was definitly the best day. No crowds to deal with and you get to see every plane fly.

Very nice pics, how did you get hooked up with going for Friday?
