Hello all. First, I’m running Windows 10 Pro. I’ve had a 436HP for a year and a half. I received my SDS100 a few weeks ago and was up and running in no time. When the Sentinel 2.00.5 update came out I updated to it. Right after that I had problems with my pc not recognizing either of my scanners when I plugged them in. I figured it had something to do with the update. Then 2.00.8 came out. I updated to that and now every time I open it I get this message:

“Database could not be read. BCDx36HP Sentinel installation might be corrupted. Please reinstall BCDx36HP Sentinel.

Access to the path ‘C:\Program Files(x86)\Uniden\Profile\SDS100’ is denied.”

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Sentinel 3 times with no change. Any ideas?

UPDATE:
I connected my 436 and tried to read from it. I get this message:

“Saving Favorites List file failed.

Could not find a part of the path ‘C:\Program Files(x86)\Uniden\Profile\SDS100\f_list.cfg’.

I hit OK and the BCDx36HP Sentinel : SDS100 window opens showing the microSD content of my
E: Uniden BCD436HP highlighted in blue. I click OK again and it tries to read it. Then I immediately get:

“Database is corrupt. Operation is canceled. Access to the path ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Uniden\Profile\SDS100’ is denied.”

I click OK and get the “...installation might be corrupted. Please reinstall...” message again.

Your folder permissions aren't set correctly. Right-click on the indicated folder and select Properties. Go to the Security tab and make sure your user account has read and write permissions.

Thanks Jon. I’m the administrator so I would think it’s set right, but stranger things have happened, so I’ll check it.

Access to Path Denied is either incorrect permissions or a drive error.

I just did a complete uninstall and am starting with a completely new download. After I’m done grilling the burgers I’ll reinstall, check permissions and see where it gets me.

After the complete uninstall, I downloaded and reinstalled Sentinel 2.00.2, then checked all permissions, which were okay. I then updated by way of the update database window. After that I restarted the machine. Upon first connection of the SDS100 I had a connection error but managed to get that to disappear (not quite sure how). After that it connected without problems. However, I wrote my favorites lists to the scanner and had a strange error happen. Of my 7 favorites lists (all with a quick key assigned) my first 2 lists are Allegan County (QK-0) and Ottawa County (QK-1). For some strange reason Ottawa became a part of the Allegan list and the Ottawa list that showed up on the scanner under QK-1 was empty of channels. I restarted the pc again and repeated the process of writing to the scanner. This time it worked. Not sure what that was all about, though. I’ll be watching closely with future writes.
