When you append a Department, Sentinel also appends all sites for the system. You can highlight one or more departments, and append them, but it will also append all sites in the system. You cannot pick only one or a couple of them. For a large statewide or regional system, that's a lot of sites that you likely do not want. (I sure don't want all of them).

You can use ProScan or ARC536 to import only the site (or sites) that you want, as well as specifying which departments & talkgroups.

As sort of a 'work around', if you (temporarily) change the name of the system to something else, you can then append the original system, with it's assigned name, to the same Favorites list. Then, edit that list to extract the specific site(s) you want, & copy them over into your original system. While editing, you could, if you desire, change it's name back to the original version.

Another Question because I'm old..... Can you edit the spelling of a name in your favorites list? I spelled something wrong.

Yep.

Select the list you want to rename. Then, select the small a}{e icon on the second line of symbols. It's the one directly under the the "disk" icon.

That will let you change the name.

You can also change the name in ProScan's Favorites Editor.

No idea why they don't have a Rename in the right-click menu. Took me forever to find out the button you highlighted early on.

I was adding a couple of counties to my SDS200 recently and was able to add the TGs by going to the county under the Indiana list, then clicking on SAFE-T then in that list scrolling to the county name again, then right clicking append. I was surprised that by doing this they were correctly put in the SAFE-T area of my scan list. But no sites were auto added, so by going through all the tabs in Sentinel I found the tab for sites and I was able to add the new site names to my sites list. BUT there was no place to add the cc FREQUENCIES!! and I had to then go on the scanner & add the frequencies (with the keypad) to the new sites I had added, by looking them up in the RRDB. Sentinel certainly is not very well thought out and has a large amount of convolution.

The sites contain the control frequencies. I never had to enter anything via the keypad.

Which site(s) did you add? You can also look at the site in Sentinel and see the frequencies in it.

For some reason there's no Append to favorite function for sites in the DB. Uniden assumes you append all sites the first time you add that system to a favorite list and then starts to permanently avoid all sites not needed. If you try and add the whole system again then Sentinel will not add any new sites, very strange.

I am talking about this tab in Sentinel for the sites. I added the 2 bottom site names manually, but couldn't find a place to enter the freqs. So I entered them in later on my SDS200 with its keypad.

Press the + sign under Safe-T. Once you see the site, highlight it, the frequency column will open up on the right.

If you create sites on the sites tab like I did (which is the ONLY place you can), then from the + beside my SAFE-T list and scroll to the bottom where the sites are, there is no way to bring up any kind of box to input the freqs on the sites you just added. Yeah, you can edit the freqs on the sites that already have them. but they are the only ones you can do that on. If the freqs are not already there form when you originally made your scan list all at once, then you are SOL for inputting the freqs to a newly added site, other then later by keypad (which is totally ridiculous). Try it & you'll see what I'm saying.

Are you following these steps:

Edit..Edit Favorite List..System..Sites. This where they can be edited or frequencies added.

To answer your question, I create my own Favorite Lists, so very familiar with self programming. You're missing a step along the way, nothing to do with Sentinel.

Tell me how you get the box/place to input the freqs for the sites you just added manually, that don't have any yet. If you click on the site you just added at the bottom of your favs list, the right panel is blank, there are no boxes or lines to add the freqs on/into. If you click an already existing site the freqs are right there in a column of boxes. BUT NO SUCH THING EXISTS for the sites you just added MANUALLY. IF you are so smart show me a pic of how to added the freqs of a NEW SITE that you just added MANUALLY to your ALREADY EXISTING scan list. Show me that freakin' box/place bud, b\c there is NO PLACE to do so.

On the left pane, I highlight the site, which then appears in the right pain where you can enter all the parameters..frequencies, NAC, Filters etc.

Just something to add, if you're looking for help, don't act like an a**. I've performed this task many times, and can give you things you might have missed.

Here's some screen shots to go with what 'shades & Randy have already mentioned.

Open your Favorites list with the Favorites Editor.
Select your system in the Editor window.
In the right side pane, you'll see tabs for Departments, Sites, Options, & Quick Keys. Select the one for Sites.
1697651930552.png
With the site selection open, click on the Green Plus sigm. That will add a new site.
1697652061647.png
Name your site.
1697652144280.png
Now, in the left side pane in the Editor, find your new site & select it.

In the right side pane, after you select the site:

Now, selct the green Plus sign to add a Frequency.
1697652440964.png

Enter your site frequency, and then hit the Plus again for each additional frequency for the site.

The "Options" tab you see when adding your frequencies is where you can set the Site NAC, choose the Filter you want to use (if any), and select a Quick Key.

If you are using Location Control on the list, be sure to fill those settings.
