Is there a new version of the BCDx36HP Sentinel version 1.02 (revision 01) software.

How do I add a wildcard in Department to receive unlisted TGIDs

You can change that using the Favorites Editor, presuming you are scanning using a Favorites. If using only the full database, you would not be able to modify the Department (or System nor Channel) name.

The Uniden scanners do not use a 'wildcard' like you see in the Object Oriented Scanners (the GRE or Whistler manufactured scanners, and the Radio Shack branded scanners manufactured by one of those two).

Instead, if scanning via a Favorites list, change the System option to "ID Search" instead of "ID Scan". 'ID Scan' will only stop on talkgroups that are already identified and entered for that system and are not avoided (locked out) or in a 'Department' that has been avoided.

'ID Search' will stop on any talkgroup ID that is active, providing (again) that they are not avoided (locked out) or in a 'Department' that has been avoided. If the active ID is one that is already programmed, you'd see the text tag entered for that TGID. If the active ID is not entered for that system, you would see the TGID instead of a text tag.

Thank you hiegtx.

I have about 3 frequencies that I want to monitor in my favorite list, so where would these go?

If they are conventional frequencies, make a new Department in the System you want (or make a new System), and add the frequencies to that Department.

The only caveat is that conventional frequencies must be added to a conventional System. This can be in the same FL as a Trunked system.

I made a new Department under my favorite, but do not see where I add the frequencies.

1. Right Click on the new Favorites List and select Program.
2. Add a new Conventional System.
3. Add a Department.
4. Add Freqs.
5. Listen to said freqs after writing the Favorites List to the radio
6. Enjoy!

Do I have to make a new Favorite list or can I add the new Conventional to my existing Favorite?

You can make a new Conventional System in your existing FL. Use the green plus sign to create a new one. You must be in EDIT mode which I use CTRL-2 to get to after I highlight my FL. There are several ways to enter edit mode, but I find CTRL-2 the easiest.

I still do not see were to enter the conventional frequencies.

Okay I understand how to program a conventional frequencies. THANK YOU!

The frequencies that I want to program are P25 Phase I, so what system type do I use?

P25 One Frequency, Conventional, or P25 X2-TDMA?

P25 Trunk in the scanner and/or Sentinel, If the frequencies that you want to program are P25 Phase I and are all in one system, System A freqs 123,126, 127. Phase 1 single frequency are P25 One frequency.

You can try to Append anything from the RRDB to your favorite list of choice.

You cannot in the scanner, unless you would be willing to use Sentinel, in the scanner you will have to delete and start over with a new system
