This morning my BCDx36HP_Sentinel_Version_2_02_01 refused to open. I am running Windows 10 version 1903 on a Surface Probook. I have never had this issue happen and always update to the most recent version of Sentinel. I attempted to repair from the original download. That did not work. I uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. I first attempted computer restart and that didn't work. I turned off my McAfee firewall and that didn't work. To the best of my knowledge, it seems that the application issues I'm having began after a 6/13 Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool update and a Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems were installed. When I double click on the icon it seems to begin initialization but then stops. If I double click numerous times in succession I get a window that says only one instance of Sentinel can run at a time. I click okay and still nothing happens. I already tried going into the task manager and made sure Sentinel wasn't already running and of course it wasn't. So, I'm out of ideas and could use some advice.

I had the exact same problem, on june 13, after a "windows security update" sentinel would not open..... I called microsoft, they created a new user on my computer, along with some other changes, I reloaded sentinel, and it worked.

Yes, because when they created a new user, there was a new set of Uniden folders (containing a new user.config file) created by Sentinel for that new user. The problem of Sentinel not running shows up when the user.config file for a particular user becomes corrupt.

You can fix the problem for the old user name by following the link in the post above.... which essentially does the same thing by letting Sentinel create a new set of Uniden folders for that user.

You my friend are brilliant!

Several of us are brilliant, and you would be as well if you'd used the search engine, :p here's one of my posts, complete with full directions and screen shots and the subject line of "Did your Sentinel stop working, reinstall doesn't help, read this post" so it's easily found via a search.
