Hello All!
It never fails. You look for something so long and hard and never find it. Go to a store to look for something else, and you guessed it, you accidentally find what you thought was impossible to find. Such was the case for me. I bought a new desktop computer to replace my aging 7 year old one. I did not realize that the new ones do NOT come with a serial port. Well, I found a serial port that uses not just one but two serial ports and both on the same slot and not two. Here is the front of the box:

Here is the adapters themselves:
Dual DB-9s on the same slot
An inside look:

Here is the best part:
Vista 32 / 64 Bit compatible
I figured I would post this so that if anyone else is using Vista 32 or 64 bit, you can have a source of reference in case you want to add some serial ports to your tower. I am running my Scancontrol software through it right now without a hitch. I use it for my 996, bct 15s and Uniden 785.
Hope this is useful to someone. I purchased it locally but if you do a google search, you may find it somewhere close to where you live. I realize there are cheaper ways to do this like using adapters and such but for hardware guys like me, this is nice.

Thats is a cheaper way to go. However, I prefer the physical harware intall way because it is more reliable for me. You have any idea how many different cables I use for the different scanners and Ham stuff? With 2 ports, you can have 2 cables for 2 separate things going at one time. While you could also do that with a cable, I will never ever lose or misplace the hardware......I just plug two 6 foot serial wires from the back and leave them available to me at any time all the time. Those adapters are best for laptops. They are generaly short in size, although this one is pretty long. Not very good when your tower sits 6 feet away from you. Plus, this one has the adapter for female A to B or something like that. I would definitely lose it at some point.

Just my opinion on what is best for me, thats all.
