Brian doesn't need your pdf's to service his own scanners but he will archive them in a yahoo group. Service Manuals have copyright protection, which you can share (not sell) with others individually, but it is illegal to publish them for general use without the express permission of the copyright owner. Brian intends to do just that, publish the Service Manuals without Radio Shacks express permission.

if it was copyrighted woudnt it have the copyright info on a page saying you cant give this out with out radio shacks PERMISSION??

The point is, you intend to publish the Service Manuals. How do I know, because you did it with the Pro-96 Service Manual which I sent to you two weeks ago, making me a part of your violation.

it says radio shack corp all right reserved i saw that myself as do the owners manuals

it never says anything about permission

Does RS give them away for free?

If not, then by posting them online you are taking money away from them. They would not like that too much.

No, they don't give them away free. They also won't sell them to anyone anymore for the recent units. So, no revenue is lost. Damages would be very hard to prove.

However, unlike the Owners Manual, Radio Shack has never posted any Service Manual for download. Sure appears to be copyright maintenance for the Service Manual but no concern for the Owners Manual.

I recall several months ago that one of your well known moderators in the Yahoo Pro-96 group removed portions of the Service Manual from the files section, reason...copyright. Has anything changed? No. It wasn't available for purchase then either. Then you Joe, sent me a private message and ask me to send you a copy. Did you publish it...not to my knowledge and I didn't ask you not to. A day later, Brian sent me an email with a hyper link only. to his brand new Yahoo group. Guess what, the only thing that group is for is to archive the pirated Pro-96 Service Manual. However, in this feed, it appears he is trying to get others to contribute to his ambitions.

En creditable, you removed it from Yahoo Pro-96 group as I requested, then started your own Yahoo group and loaded it back up.

i got them from you and a week later i posted it cuz someone needed it

plus radio shack doesnt even sell a service manual for the pro 96 so lets go this one how did u get something that isnt sold??????

Of course they do, you're posting something that RS never intended to be widely available to the public, espically for free.
