• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

yea, he's already keeping the old girl occupied so she isn't constantly bugging me. He's a tough little thing, Cassie stepped on his paw and tail and he kept right on sleeping! But the first sound he heard he was wide awake :)
But as
I told someone in a PM, I already stepped in it...litterally...I knew I forgot something about puppies.... at least I still had my boots on :)

Well, good advice. You will not need to step in it to long, those Labs learn quick and you will not have a problem with it. Only thing to worry about (for 2 years +-) is chewing up stuff.

As always, depends on how much patience you have and how much she can get away with. Honestly, I am impatient. She did not rattle a feather so you should be fine. Just be consistent and firm when you need to be and she will grow up to make you very PROUD, trust me.

Good luck with her and if you need some good readin books on how to train her let me know. I am more or less into training "bird dogs," duck hunting, but will point you in the right direction into "house training" her.

Well the past month has been interesting to say the least, first the tornado that hit the house and now my security force grew, at least temporarily by 6! Cassie delivered 6 puppies on the 25th so my sleepless nights are back :(
Gizmo is the "proud father" of 5 females and one male, 2 black & white, 2 charcol black & white, one brown, black and white and one all white! I guess you could call the pups Rotten Pit Chow as Cassie is Rottwieler and Pitbull and Gizmo is Chow and Pitbull
I may keep one or two so if you know anyone in need of a good puppy let me know. Cassie is 132lbs Gizmo 70 so the pups may be large.

Shack security isn't a big issue for me as I only have a few portable that I can lock away in a cabinet when I'm not home. I tend to think that thieves would be more apt to steal my silver, computers and tv's before even looking for radios. I have a cat, but HE wouldn't attack anything! I have trouble getting him to hunt mice. Sounds like a good set up except for I would be worried about getting sued over the cat and dog putting their teeth into someone.

If they are where they don't belong then there are plenty of warning signs... let em sue and I'll clean them out instead. Fortunately I live where stupidity and ignoracne are not rewarded if you get my meaning.... :) and it helps I know ALL the LEO's in the county or they know me.

Well as someone once said "God created man and Sam Colt made them equal" ! Seems to be a common thread here!

I know what your talking about, My Great Dane had 16 puppies in November, and I live in michigan so its cold, so we cleaned out the spare room and made it a dog nursery more or less, we liked to socialize the pups so they were better dogs. And we took them outside every day at least 3 times, and they cried like crazy... i hope the nieghbor dog dosent come back to visit any time soon!

the dogs hear a crook and know something is wrong before you or a video camera, and can have dealt with a crook before you can get to your gun in most cases.... the gun is a good backup though.
