Shelton Fire

While in Monroe tonight Shelton had a fire in a garage and command told everyone to go to Fireground 1.
Then the 33.86 channel went silent.
SO since i was close i scooted up and put on CC and got 458.1125 DPL 343
They operated on that for the fire, and command would go to 33.86 to talk to dispatch.

I had to turn off shelton EMS 453.975 DPL026 to listen to the fire, What ever a 907 is he tied up the air, I thought he was joking arround but I think he is realy like that. If you get a chance to hear him it is very funny radio.

is this freq 458.1125 DPL 343 a confirmed channel for shelton fd, its not in the database,all i see is 2 low band and a fireground 2 channel and if it is confirmed then either myself or someone else add it to the database and is it simplex or repeater..thanks

They hold a license for it and Im the 2nd person to hear them talking on it. But I don't have a code plug for them so it can't be confirmed.
Im going to guess its part of the new simulcast system as 453.4375 gets keyups on a high power repeater now sometimes but no fire traffic on it yet

If more than one source says they heard shelton traffic then isnt that confirmed enough for you?

Hahaha. OK. I can answer some of this. First, yes 458.1125 D343 is Shelton Fire's new Fireground 1. With in the coming months Shelton fire will start Simulcasting off 33.86 and their new UHF Freq 453.4375 D226. Citywide Dispatch will move to this UHF Freq hopefully by the end of the summer.

As for 907. He is a very Brand New EMS Lieutenant. So yes. Chicken. No head.

Yes Jared seemed very enthusiastic about doing that tone test tonight. It was the first City Wide one I've heard in along time. I wonder if they will continue to do it.

I actually wasn't listening to the new UHF Freq tonight, Was he simulcasting on it? I'm on top of Coarm Ave so I get both tones on the Low Band Freq pretty well (Most of the Time.) I still miss the old tones, when they all worbaled after each. That sucker took 2 min to get it all out. We'd be at the station rolling a truck by the time it was just ending.

Below are the new shelton fire channels.
They have been sending out the new channels and information to the surrounding towns

Dispatch 453.4375 DPL 226
Fireground 1 458.1125 DPL 343
Fireground 2 465.0500 DPL 125

I would expect to see the system go live and cross patched within the next 4 weeks for testing.
with a switch to it early june, From the info I read its a 5 TX site and 7 RX site system.
Its nice to finnaly see a valley town get a real public safety radio system

LOL Joe... I think Ansonia's systems have come a long way in the last year and you must admit Oxfords system plays very well.

I think what APX is saying is that Shelton Engendered from the ground up as a Public Safety system.

You can get a Radio System $

Or you can get a Public Safety Radio System $$$$

But what one do you want when the S^&@ is hitting the fan any your in the middle of it?
