I think there are gangs just about everywhere around So Cal anymore. When I was in high school back in the '80s we had one gang in all of Rancho Cucamonga. Deputies I have spoken with who were around back then said that gang used to go into Ontario and cause problems so they never had to deal with them too often. Then in the '90s when the population started increasing, more and more gangs started appearing in this city. Not sure how many there are now but I know it's more than one.

Those gangs are everywhere. They're getting too big for their crime infested sanctuary cities like Smell A and Frisco. So they move to quiet Palm Desert and other communities and take their turf wars with them.

The latest word is that it was a gang shooting incident.

ILLEGAL aliens are not allowed to have firearms. They cannot buy guns using a MEXICAN drivers license either. So they obtain them on the black market. The LAPD will not call ICE; when ILLEGAL aliens violate existing FEDERAL gun control laws! An arrogant chief (recruited from BOSTON) is on video tape telling the Amerikan people to get the hell out if they don't like the invasion...

Wow

Wow im suprised (not really) the illegals are not deported immediately. Why are illegals not deported immediately?? Dont make sence. THERE ILLEGAL!!! Last I heard there breaking the law. So the next time I do something illegal like speeding then I will call it bias to ticket me but not enforce immergreation laws!

Those FEDERAL gun laws are crystal clear. The prohibition regarding illegal aliens was a direct result of a PLO terrorist shooting Robert Kennedy in Los Angeles. Four decades later a CORRUPT police, mayor and the silly council have ordered their army of police officers to selectively ignore certain laws.

"Are you an ILLEGAL alien", is one of those questions on that BATFE form that must be filled out, when you purchase a gun LEGALLY from a licensed dealer! There is NO more of this PRIVATE party advertising his used guns in the newspaper and you buying them without all of the paperwork. In that case, the same goes for these gang bangers buying a stolen firearm in a back alley.

A LIBERAL judge turned one of these gang bangers loose on a gun offense. He bought another ILLEGAL firearm and blew a high school athlete away. Look up the Jamiel Shaw case and get ANGRY...

If they have a prior deportation vis-a-vis an ICE 'A' number in CIS, then they are expeditiously repatriated to their home country often via JPATS. Not pretty but that side of the system does work pretty well. When they are sent back, they are tracked in ENFORCE/EARM (formerly DACS) which expedites subsequent deportations.

If an ICE, CBPO or Border Patrol Agent locates you in CIS or ENFORCE/EARM with an A number- you are going home in a very expeditious manner one way or another. Deportation/removals do show up on III raps and all the identifiers used by local le is capurted in ENFORCE/EARM - FBI/SID numbers etc. SO it is really quite easy to develop this information if one just looks for it.

However, no prior deportation then then it becomes complicated if the illegal does not agree to VR (voluntarily return) and leave the US. If they fight it becomes a typical criminal justice meat grinder with a criminal charge, due process, bonds and attorneys and this can take years between the defendants immigration attorney and the system itself.

If there is not a violent felony or dope involved these are a little more challenging to get charged. ICE wants the Violence and Dope more than anything else (who can blame them).

So to assure you that part of the system works well for the most part, the other part is burdened with all that due process civil rights mumbo-jumbo that people love to hate the USA so much for.

The channel 7 news just had a story about the shooting. Apparently both of the dead men had an ongoing dispute of some kind and shot each other. At least no innocent bystanders were hurt.

Here's some more info:
Toys R Us reopens in Palm Desert after 2 men are killed

The dead men were identified by Riverside County sheriff's officials as Alejandro Moreno, 39, of Desert Hot Springs and Juan Meza, 28, of Cathedral City. Two handguns were recovered at the scene.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. Friday after two women got into a fight. After the women began arguing, witnesses said, Meza pulled out a gun. Moreno also pulled out a gun and started chasing and shooting at Meza, witnesses said. Frantic shoppers either dropped to the floor or stormed out of the store.
