Shortwave Frequencies

I have a Radio Shack DX 394 and I am looking for shortwave frequencies. I am wanting to listen to utility stations mostly, Aircraft, marine stuff like that. Thanks for your help in advance.....

There is a lot of links and info out there, the ones I posted are sites I use on a daily basis. I also use Ham Radio Deluxe, which has a Shortwave listing built in.

Thanks for the info guys, there was a post in this HF forum before that had all the "new york radio" volmet frequencies listed on it, but it is gone. How long do the forums stay on the site until it is deleted?

Monitoring Times magazine is a good Utility Station reference too. One of the few pieces of info that I find is still better in print than on the net.

The problem with print publications is that logs tend to be 60-90 days old depending on the lag time for publishing. That's why mailing lists are far preferable, as they are about as close as real time as you can get without being on a chat.

I'm always wondering where those RTTY (teletype) signals heard in the shortwave broadcast bands are from and where they are transmitting to. Haven't had much luck seaching for info on them. (no, they are not images on my Yaesu FT767gx)

Unfortunately there are a great many of these that can't be copied - some folks have made the assumption that they are NATO and/or USN related. For example, the one that sits (used to sit? Haven't tuned there lately) at the lower end of 30 is pretty much thought to be a USN op. There are a few (not many) Aero related weather type stuff still out there, but they are fast becoming a rare breed. On older lists, you will see news-related stuff, but this has largely vanished in favor of satellite links.

Well, here's a partial list of Weather Fax frequencies that are currently used. There's a complete & updated list (somewhere) on the web, but I cannot recall the url right now. But here are the ones that I reference and sometimes monitor.

And you know the deal, subtract 1.9 kHz to arrive at the USB frequency:

And thank you for making that distinction. I posted the list because I saw you'd mentioned "Aero related weather type stuff". As a matter of fact, the 3855 kHz station in Hamburg Germany is Aero weather and isn't hard to pick up here in the U.S. when surfing through 80 meters. If anything its a dandy marker of propagation conditions, or for testing a new receive antenna.
