BCT15X: Sick Scanner?

Where to start. Thanks for your help up front!!

The BCT 15X I have works great when I direct dial and single freq to listen to.

When scanning programs the frequencies hit will come in for about 5 seconds then fade out for about a second then come in for 5 seconds and fade out of a second.... etc... etc. This also happens when monitoring WX Basically worthless as a scanner, but is useful for single event monitoring including dialing in the WX frequency.


A little more info: The antenna I use is the same I hook up to my Whistler TRX-1. The TRX-1 functions without flaw with the antenna set up.


If there is nothing that you can recommend I do myself to cure this sick scanner.... Can you recommend a place I can send it for repair?

things to check

the delay function has a negative setting that would work that was.
if set of negative 5 it would give a 5 second sample and then scan .
a good setting for delay would be 2.
it could be a priority setting and would do about the same thing.
it could check a frequency or the weather and then go back to scanning.
same kind of hickup sound.
so check both.

Thank You my friend. Pull the BCT 15X out of the drawer and did what you suggested.

Fixed!!

Also modified my scan channels a bit. Quick Key one was overloaded with stuff I had no use for. Pushed a bunch of it to other quick keys.
