Can anyone confirm if the "Simple DMR" plugin by theWraith, works with SDR# version 1920? I can get it running, and it appears to work, but no DMR audio is heard. It works in older versions of SDR Sharp.

Hello W4KRR,
Tried with SDR# version 1910 and 1915. The Simple DMR plugin works fine.
Tried with version 1919, 1920 and 1921. Audio output is broken for this plugin.

For Simple DMR and APCO plug-ins, I have made a change to the audio gain to suit SDR# v1920.
My ability to test them with SDR# v1920 is a real pain. All I can tell is that it's louder but I'm not sure if it sounds right.

In the next day or so I will try to upload them so people can test and report how they sound.
These versions will only be suited to these new SDR# versions.

P.S. Has anyone ever tried the Simple dPMR plug-in?
I would like to get a good IQ sample of this if possible.

I have uploaded the fix for Simple APCO and Simple DMR plug-ins for (only) SDR# v1920+ to the SDR# folder in the link below.

This fix archive "APCO_DMR_test_fix_for_v1920.7z" only contains the updated DLLs.
Please try and let me known of it sounds OK now.

I still get no audio with the fixed .dll files, which would appear to be the same ones as the older versions; they have the same last modified dates.

The plugin will only operate if both .dll files are in the plugins directory. This is contrary to the .pdf instructions which indicate that the 'dmr_full.dll' file must be placed in the SDR# folder. Doing this results in an error message on the plugin window that indicates that both .dll files are not in the same directory.

Are you sure you extracted the files correctly?
  • Original v1.1.1.0 date stamp September 2023
  • Fixed v1.1.1.0 date stamp October 2024 (as seen in the archive)
In the 'notes.txt' is the MD5 hashs for the files, you can check against them.

Yes this has been pointed out to me just recently, I have made the change to the documentation. (to be released in next version)
e.g.: The 'SDRSharp.APCO.dll' and 'apco_full.dll' files should be together in 'Plugins' folder.

On the link above, there is no file called "APCO_DMR_test_fix_for_v1920.7z", unless I'm missing it. The closest thing I can see is "Simple_APCO_DMR_DPMR", which is the old files.

The Simple_APCO_DMR_PDMR folder contains four archive files - the first of those, APCO_DMR_test_fix_for_v920.71z, is the modified dll files and the other three are the older individual archives.

Apologies for asking a potentially stupid question. Where does one find the "Simple DMR" plugin? The only link I can seem to find is broken.

Hi. I downloaded the files for SDR# v1920 but the “enabled” item is inactive. the same in SDR# v1921. Are there solutions to this? the old version of the plugin worked without sound

Generally there are two reasons for this:
  1. The "apco_full.dll" is not installed or where it should be. (in the Plugins folder with SDRSharp.APCO.dll)
  2. You are trying to run the plug-in on a 32 bit version of Windows.
There should be a message shown in the plug-in panel indicating this. (in red)

Hey all, does anyone have this working with v1919? i cant seem to get it too work. Curiously i can get an old version (v1.1.1.0 i think) of SimpleDMR to work with v1919 but only if i have AM mode selected

Edit: im basically trying to make sure all dmr plugins are up to date so im not losing any decoding/features

In FM mode the plugin works, but the sound is still very quiet. What am I doing wrong?

There are two main volumes you can normally adjust:
  • SDR# volume, in v1920 setting it to 0dB should be a good starting point.
  • The decoded audio volume (in the plug-in panel), setting it from middle to MAX should get it at a 'normal'* level.
* There is no audio AGC to the decoded audio so different levels may be heard and would depend on the radios alignment of its voice audio level or if someone is loud speaker.

A third possible audio level maybe adjusted in the Windows Sound settings.
Also look in "App volume and device preferences".

thanks for getting back too me. Iv tried those things but to no avail unfortunatley, its still so quiet that its unreadable. Like i put in my previous post i could get the a previous plugin version to work well but only in AM,the audio was loud and clear, but iv now overwritten/lost that version whilst updating to the latest. Do you have a copy of the old versions?

edit: what SDRSharp AGC settings would you reccomend for this plugin?
