SLPD Vice/Narc comms

Listening to AC33 SLCPD/FD system last night and SLPD vice and
narcs were running ops around Pioneer Park. Lots of undercover (Uncle
Charlie) traffic going on. Heard actual soliciations at times with prices
and x-rated talk. Never have heard that before...you could actually
here the mark replying. Is that legal or a screw up??

I am not a lawyer, but if it will clean up the streets, more power to them. I'm sure the comms were going out so the arresting team could hear enough "evidence" to have PC (Probable Cause). However, like you, I am a little surprised that it was done on the "working" radio channel instead of a private one where it would normally be recorded as well.

In Las Vegas, Nevada, the UC vice cops transmitted their entire "interaction" over the air. Made very entertaining listening. I think they must have done it to alert the arresting officers when they could move in.

KUTV did a story about the ops that were going on.

At one point in their video you can hear the radio in the background saying "done deal, done deal, done deal..."

Wonder if thats why it was "in the open" was KUTV was working with them on the story.

I got so tired of hearing, "Done deal, done deal, done deal," that I almost locked out that TG. It was becoming very aggravating hearing that over and over and over, but it was for a good cause.
