This is mainly concerning the King County and Bellevue discussed in Northwest Northwest Frequency Directory - 10th Edition ( http://scanseattle.com/ ):
on page 188
The trunked system, EPSCA, should also have the frequency 853.4125. I figured that out just today because I have one scanner that I have to manually put in each freq and another that I have to only put in the control channel, and I noticed the manual one was missing some transmissions. I think they just recently changed/added that.
On page 196
Where it says "Sheriff Patrol - Northeast," it should be changed to just "sheriff patrol - north" it’s kind of weird, but I talked to a king county sergeant who patrols Sammamish in NE KC and he told me it is just called "north radio.” and I confirmed this when I was listening: units said "switch to NORTH tac" and "is [unit] on NORTH Radio".
on page 190
under Bellevue police, here are the unit call signs:
b - most patrol officers are boy (for "bellevue") units
t - traffic units
o - detective
doc - department of corrections
a – unknown
d – unknown (probably some kind of detective)
l – unknown
p - parking
c - clyde hill
on page 225
Bellevue Square, Lincoln Square, and Bellevue Place all use 464.875 (no PL or DPL). All personnel use this frequency, including security, house cleaning, janitors, maintenance, ect. (needless to say, it is a very active and slightly confusing channel).
on page 226
710 KIRO uses 450.800 as a raw real time feed to their traffic chopper.
in addition to 161.640, KIRO traffic chopper also talks on 450.6875 (PL 141.3), and 455.6875 (PL 141.3) is the repeater.
King 5 now talks mainly on 455.5125 (PL 131.8), and they use that for broadcast coordination in addition to their chopper.
on page 233
BCC security talks almost exclusively on 453.675 (PL 85.4)
on page 190
Bellevue fire is not dispatched by “ValleyCom,” (if that’s what “See ValleyCom” implies), it is dispatched by Eastside Fire on 22384
In addition to Newcastle and Beaux Arts Village, SE King county sheriff also patrols an unincorporated part of south Bellevue called Eastgate.
NOTE: just because i made corrections/updates to this book does not at all mean it is a bad book. On the contrary, this book is amazing; it has so much information about northwest scanning that a radio listener will never get bored! So i highly recommend it!
And feel free to add on to this with your own corrections, or you can go to http://scanseattle.com/ and submit your own updates.
