from SEOCOMM.COM | The Southeast Ohio Emergency Communication Frequency Database

As many readers know, the Southeast Ohio EMS District will dissolve on December 31, 2010. Each of the three participating SEOEMS counties will form their own county EMS which will begin operation on January 1, 2011 at midnight. Here is what we know about dispatch arrangements:

Athens and Lawrence County will use the Ohio MARCS system for the majority of EMS communication.

Athens County will dispatch ambulances on 151.19 MHz, which is the old sheriff frequency.

Lawrence County will dispatch ambulances temporarily on 154.205 MHz, the county fire channel, but a new VHF frequency is being considered for EMS alerts. It is possible that the Lawrence County 911 general ops frequency 151.31 MHz may also be used at some point.

Jackson County has not elected to use the MARCS system. They will operate on 151.01 MHz, which is an unused repeater frequency licensed to the sheriff's office. Jackson County is moving forward with plans to construct a consolidated county 9-1-1 center using EMS and sheriff's office employees.

All three counties have expressed interest in "tapping in" to the SEOEMS dispatch frequency 159.075 MHz and using that channel during the first few weeks while mobile and base radio installations continue and technical problems are identified and corrected.

All plans listed here are subject to change if problems develop.

I think they all retired... now it's Roy Jr, Johnny Jr, Chet Jr, ;)
But at least every time you hear station 51 dispatched, those old memories will come back.

Additional info:

Jackson County is using 159.075 MHz (the old SEOEMS diospatch channel) for now. They are sharing the frequency with Athens County 911 and ACEMS operations.

Jackson County has elected to keep the old SEOEMS numbering system -- for now. This means:

Station 8 - Wellston. Trucks: Medic 81, Medic 82
Station 9 - Jackson. Trucks: Medic 91, Medic 92, Medic 93
Station 10 - Oak Hill Trucks: Medic 101, Medic 102

Lawrence County is using 154.205 MHz for alerts and MARCS for all other communication. They slightly modified the old SEOEMS numbering by removing the first number from the ID.

Old SEOEMS:

Ironton -- Station 11 Trucks: Medic 11-1, Medic 11-2, Medic 11-3
South Point -- Station 12 Trucks: Medic 12-1, Medic 12-2
Chesapeake -- Station 13 Trucks: Medic 13-1, Medic 13-2
Proctorville -- Station 14 Trucks: Medic 14-1, Medic 14-2
Aid -- Station 15 Trucks: Medic 15-1, Medic 15-2

New Lawrence County EMS:

Ironton Station 1 Trucks Medic 11, Medic 12, Medic 13
South Point Station 2 Trucks: Medic 21, Medic 22
Chesapeake Station 3 Trucks: Medic 31, Medic 32
Proctorville Station 4 Trucks: Medic 41, Medic 42
Aid Station 5 Trucks: Medic 51, Medic 52

The county EMS director is "500".

The operations supervisors are 401, 402, and 403
The assistant operations supervisors are 301, 302, 303, 304, etc.
Paramedics have an ID in the 200 series.
EMTs have an ID in the 100 series.

Does anyone know if they are getting rid of any of their MARCS radios since they are not using them in some places? Thanks.
