BCD325P2/BCD996P2: Speaker Tone Setting

Hello Everyone
Just a quick question on my Uniden BCD996p2 scanner. Is there a tone setting for the speaker output as it is very "Bassy" and is hard to understand the conversation at times.

Make sure your not sitting it on a surface that's blocking the speaker that is mounted in the bottom of the enclosure. If so, the typical solutions are, use the supplied mounting bracket on the bottom so that it holds the scanner up enough to allow sound to escape the internal speaker, or use an external speaker plugged into the Ext Spk jack on the back of the scanner.

Short answer:
There is no tone setting.
Audio quality is improved by using an auxillary speaker.

The external speaker is what you need. The MFJ - 281 Clear Tone works great! It's not bassy.

I wish there was a "smart sound" like some of the TV's have. This goes for the SDS200 as well.
