SPEN patch

Elizabeth and Mountain Valley Communications (Summit, New Providence) are pretty much the only ones that I have heard across SPEN as of recently. I get SPEN 5x5 from the two consoles at work. Sometimes even getting Ocean County depending on the day. In my experience, Bergen County seems to use SPEN more than any other county in NJ.

I know Bergen County has an encrypted police alerting TG on their system. The county gave every municipality the equipment and paid for it all to be installed. But as you said BC departments use SPEN 1 a lot. A lot of the PSAP's use SPEN 1 to notify their subscribers of emergencies, especially fires. I have it in all my radios.

Forty years ago when say Orange put out a bolo on SPEN you would always hear the response, West Orange got it, East Orange got it, Newark got it, South Orange got it, etc. It was just a simple reply.
