Squelch - Search or None?

I've decided to load up my TRX-2 and monitor the local airports. Simulcast had it sitting gathering dust, so I decided to put it to use. I've noticed that the Whistler software selects "search" for the squelch (for am conventional frequencies) for the local aviation frequencies I entered. Another option for the squelch is "none". Do I really need to search? Is this affecting scan speed at all?

No and No.

There's no need to enter squelch information on air band.

It has no effect on scan speed.
