Has anyone been listening to the VHF dispatch frequency (154.980) for St. Mary's County Fire and EMS lately ? It seems theirs a garbling sound that occasionally pops up after a unit marks up and it sticks for a few seconds then the VHF goes silent for a few seconds but you can hear the next transmission (Fireboard) on the 800 side. I've noticed this going on for a while now. Any thoughts on what this could be ? As a firefighter/EMT I know I wouldn't want to miss any transmissions as minitor pagers are still highly used in the county.

Yes, its weird and again you cant hear anything for a few seconds after, there's been instances where they have dispatched a call right after that noise and nothing was heard over vhf including setting off the alert tones for the pagers in witch caused a delay in response.
