This thing would be perfect if the flange on the base didn't flare outward. If I had a metal brake I would bend it inward lol

Certainly, and of course if you would actually read my other post you would know that and you wouldn't have made your post. It's really important to go back and read the entire thread before you challenge somebody. Just saying

No problem at all LOL. I respect you and your posts forever lol. I try my best not to do the same, but every once in a while I get caught too.

We are both on the top 20 most notable members on radio reference LOL. Kind of means something.

My biggest problem I get very little sleep! If you notice a lot of my post are at all hours. I average about 3~4 hours per night. Old age and medication makes things even worse. I tell the wife I do what I can when I can. That doesn't mean the results come out good!

Eh, I don't even know how much is enough sleep, I average about 3 to 5 hours a night, sprinkled with no sleep at all. What's important is that you have a wife, I miss those days and I live alone. Companionship is so important!... Well we don't want to go off topic but... I hear you brother.

A mobile installation is an experiment (its’ details) until some miles and use have accumulated.

I’ve averaged 500-1,000 zip-ties annually the past few years so often have initial installs been re-done. The confines of a big truck have vastnesses to cover.

Took me awhile to get over feeling kinda dumb or angry I’d missed something that, in retrospect, seemed obvious.

Velcro (with super glue) and zip-ties have been my mainstays. Not hard to re-do.

HOW to run power and coax have been where the difficulties come into play.

The results worthwhile, as, being able to hear and to be heard FAR beyond typical big truck radio rigs = Success.

A Haz-Mat spill completely closing the Interstate 200-miles ahead until the following morning (is example). None of the rest around me heard what I thought was a fairly “loud” radio. And I only had to repeat the info ONCE to quell the eruption of voices on AM-19.

It’s not right until you say it is so.
And no constraint exists on further changes thereby.

Made something similar out of Aluminum stock scavenged from the scrap pile behind the city sign shop. The street name signs were almostI w the perfect width.

I was blessed at one muni shop to have the sign guys & the signal guys in the same building for a while, then we all moved to almost adjacent buildings. Great bunches of guys, and a very interesting assortment of flat sheet when they vacated the old building.

So I first got my driver's license in the fall of 1969 and bought myself a nice beater... I started with and always used stick shift. Of course the first thing I did was stack a RatShack slide rule dial vhf hi/low monitor, a heavy metal beast on the bottom with a Lafayette CB on top of it. LOL.
