From what ive seen, yes, its just another Ops channel. Ive seen it in use a lot when Parole/US Marshals/Polk Co units all need to work together, its a STEP weekend and there is a sting operation somewhere where they need a dedicated channel. Or in the case of a few minutes ago, there is a pursuit and they need to clear the main channel to better organize. Star 1, Star 3, Star 4 and Star 6 are the only talkgroups ive heard referenced. No idea what Star 2 or 5 would be... Star 1, 3 and 4 are AEGIS digital if i remember correctly.
Thanks for that. I heard one afternoon it was used a lot, and a week or so ago marshal ops were stalking someone round town and I think they were using it then. I also heard part of what was going on tonight to but not all of it so that clears it up for me.
