I have been working on a compiled map of all STARNET (MOT2) sites along with info on each site. Here is what I have so far, I plan to update the map regularly when more info becomes available.

Cool map

Thanks for taking the time to map this out. I am down that way about once every two months. I have been missing the Huffman site in my program and had a hole in my coverage; I have a V-folder for travel between Dallas and Liberty County for the 106. By the way, I was down there early in March (Liberty County)- No hits on the Liberty PD and Fire talk groups- the old VHF freqs were in use and I saw no 800 MHz antennas on the cars.

Thanks again!

I discovered that if you click on one of the sites in the list at the left, an arrow with info jumps onto the map and shows you where it is. Very cool. Thanks so much!

All that info in the links is not 100% complete yet. I plan to eventually make the rounds to every site and see what kind of range it has and input that also along with submitting all info to the RR database. But it is a matter of time. Driving to all sites would literally require an entire day of driving, a ton of miles on my truck, and a hefty penny in gas. But as I make my rounds through the area the next few weeks I am going to try and finish the info. I will also try and keep the map up to date with new sites or changes to existing sites.

Thanks,
Ryan

Beautiful !

That is a great display. I have done a similar map in Microsoft Streets and Trips, including theoretical radius rings for each tower. I have attached a printout of my tower spreadsheet which includes these radii. This info is collected from many sources including RR, Myles Barkman, and Eric Carlson, to name a few.

Wow! Thanks James. That is definitely helpful man. If you don't mind I would like to use some of your info listed to contribute to the map. I will also correct the heights on the map. I typed feet but those are actually in meters.

Can you tell me what antenna system the theoretical radius is based from? Is that a handheld with a standard antenna? a mobile NMO mount antenna? a large outdoor antenna?

Thanks again!

Hello,

There are currently two types of site maps available for every trunked system in the database. If administrators have filled in FCC license data and RR specific location data - both maps will be available.

I've attached a picture - see the top left of the System Frequencies section.

Warm regards,
