YOur off to a great start. 2 of the best scanners and I know you will like the BC780XLT. It's my second favorite scanner follwing the 996!

next prodject is a base antenna for 800mhz.. johnny where are you located in pinellas? can you pick up hills , pasco and manatee? i`m having troubles hopefully a good base antenna will do the trick

That is a great start. I remember starting this hobby and had a 10 channel Radioshack!.
Great choice of radios. Shack is starting to look like something now!:lol:
