Can someone explain what the purpose of each of the category G/H/I/J/K/L event channels are?

I have had the G, H, I, and J in a channel bank forever but never bothered to try listening to them. When I went on RR, I noticed they have added K and L.

Is there a commonality among each letter channels or anything I should know before trying to listen?

The statewide event channels are used for events big and small and incidents from Planned (Fireworks, Electric Forest, ect.) to unplanned (Missing Person, Forest Fires, Active Shooters, ect). Any agency in Michigan can request them from MPSCS as they need to be activated for use. This is to allow agencies that may not have shared Talkgroups a way to communicate, as EVERY MPSCS Radio has Statewide Event Channels and Statewide Channel (STATW1-8). It also helps to move traffic for major events/incidents off the main 911 channels. As for the letters, I is restricted to Law Enforcement. Idk if the others have conditions, but K and L were just recently added.

The main reasoning for G-L is how it breaks out on the Radio for Zones, each zone has 16 TG (G/H only have 15) but that is 1 channel for each knob position on the radio in each zone. But idk if there is much more meaning beyond that other then I being restricted to LEapx-6000-top_2.jpg

G and H zones only have 15 talkgroups each because the first one in each zone (G-EVENT 1 & H-EVENT 16) are duplicated in position 16 on the radios. As mentioned previously, Zone I is for law enforcement only. Zones K and L are reserved for encryption. K is strapped for AES and L is strapped for DES. (Apologies if I have that backwards.)

Every radio I've seen has dynamic regroup in G16 and I think H16 has been blank.
