WA State Ops

Yes, those are the ones. Should have 156.7 CTCSS on them.

I hear AirLift NW dispatch 155.295 (P25) tell the flight crew to switch to State Ops 1 or 2 to coordinate a LZ w/ those w/ boots on the ground. They must switch to lower transmit power for this as I never hear it.

When you use an 800Mhz Radio and switch to the State Ops Ch. It switches the radio to Simplex mode. Like your using a walkie talkie. State Ops does not run to a repeater.

Right, I understand all that. I'm just stating when I hear an FD dispatch telling units that AirLift NW will be using a State Ops Ch to talk to ground personnel to coordinate an LZ, or vice versa, I'm not able to hear it on any of those five channels:

867.53750 STATE OPS 1
867.56250 STATE OPS 2
867.58750 STATE OPS 3
867.61250 STATE OPS 4
867.63750 STATE OPS 5

In my opinion, I'm not able to hear it due to a lower power transmit and no line of sight between incident and I...not to mention lack of repeaters.

If you're ever listening to Bellevue fire go to fire alarms in the high-rises, they use STATEOPS all the time. Redmond Fire does this sometimes for calls at Microsoft.
