And before anyone asks, the OIT channel is a channel that we use in conjunction with our duress buttons on our radios. unfortunately I cant advise what the process is, or how it works.

I had been wondering for some time actually, I won't twist your arm though. I could only find reference to the Gov's Office of Innovation and Technology.

Thanks for the info!

yeah those are all CDOT...The 1 is the region, which is northern Colorado, the letters represent areas. usually the callsigns are 1JohnXX, the XX would represent the patrol area, like 23 is Hudson east, south to Adams County etc...

Thanks trooper. Never do I listen to CDOT so I wasn't sure. But I did notice that Zone 3 did have a few other traffic/highway channels so I made a guess.

I don't think troop would know them. These are in the database here. The mutuals could be Loveland/Fort collins Fire and police Mutual Aid talk groups. It's strange I don't see other countys with mutuals besides the macs. :?

I know they have used the ops channels for bike races and stuff that go through several counties and areas. The METRO channel is used for team operations, spec ops, etc..just about anything

Adams County has a mutual aid channel listed in the database here, the TG is 53-Adams County Mutual Aid. With at least 85% of the police and fire departments in Adams County being dispatched by ADCOM there is not a huge demand for mutual aid channels within the county as there are in other counties. I know for a fact that at least some of the Northglenn Police radios are set up to talk directly on Thornton Police channels and Thornton's on Northglenn's, I have listened to them switch over to the other channels during mutual aid situations. I'm sure that there are other departments in the county that do the same. I do recall a Commerce City officer making a difficult arrest and when he finally had the suspect in custody his radio came up on Thornton's channel. During the struggle with the suspect his radio accidently had been changed to their channel.

Douglas County has TG's 1043 & 1045 listed in the database as MAC-(#?) which are different TG's than the state MAC channels. They also have another possible mutual aid channel listed as 1013-Douglas County Emergency Operations.

Jefferson County shows TG 1477-Jeffco All PD's which I am assuming is a mutual aid channel.

Larimer County has 4 mutual aid channels set up for Loveland/Poudre Fire listed as:
4054-Loveland/Poudre Fire 1
4055-Loveland/Poudre Fire 2
4056-Loveland/Poudre Fire 3
4057-Loveland/Poudre Fire 4

Weld County is listed with 6 WINTAG (Weld Inter-agency Talkgroup) channels:
1926-WINTAG 1
1927-WINTAG 2
1928-WINTAG 3
1948-WINTAG 4
1949-WINTAG 5
1950-WINTAG 6

In addition they also have other possible mutual's listed as:
1951-Weld County Emergency Operations
1952-Weld County Emergency Operations
2000-Weld County All-Call

Speaking of instant headaches is there something in the works to take care of the distorted "Denver" dispatchers? (Or take the mic gain control away from them) It's gotta be brutal on motorcyle patrol officers.

For anyone with a PRO-96 wondering what I'm talking about turn off the digital AGC and scan the various CSP dispatch groups and get ready to turn the volume down when most of the dispatchers start talking.

Uniden scanner users (and field users I'm sure) are very familiar with this problem.

Phil.

Rick,

Thank you, I have been working on these radio codes for the last month and putting them up on my web page whenever I can. Since I am the author of all the links on the main page (with the exception of the NOAA Weather Radio SAME codes) I can edit the information any time I get new updates. I do encourage anyone that has additional information for my current pages or codes and designators for departments not listed to email me. My email address is at the top of each one of my pages. Please remember to put "Scanner Updates" in the subject field of your emails so that I can sort it out from all the junk email that I receive. I will do my best to update the pages as time permits. At this time however I am only working on law enforcement codes and designators, perhaps in the future I will start posting fire departments, again as time permits.

In reference to the ADCOM channels. Any agency that is dispatched by ADCOM has all the other agency channels. Adams County had Arapahoe, Bennett Fire, Strasburg Fire, CSP 1A, CSP 3A, Weld S.O. added also.

Oh man you ain't kidding. Why are they so different. Is it really the mics. I wonder or with the systems? I sometimes will hear audio really low and then total blast my speaker why don't you. I hope the 396 will have -AGC-. This dose not happan allot though.

-A question for TROOP. Can -CSP- talk to all the other police departments if need be with their mutual aids. I know I heard one trooper coordinating with Loveland police a couple weeks ago in a warrant, I think it was. This was on Mutual aid 3 or 4.

Yeah but in my troop we only have the MAC channels, ADCOM MAC, and one Weld County Emergency channel. For some reason politics has played a part in us not getting the county law/fire channels..so far. But yes we can talk to any agency if we have their channel or they answer on the MACs.

Second that. It resolved some questions I had about what the Thornton and Northglenn unit's designators meant.
