My SDS100 picks ups 154.370 with 4 or 5 bars of signal strength but there is significant static. I compared to someone on Broadcastify with the same freq and that feed is clear of static. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions?

Thank you

This could be a result of your scanner having difficulties separating analog signals received from different sites simultaneously.
The user is transmitting from multiple locations on the same frequencies.
One option is to move the scanner around to find a better spot that nulls the static. (provided it's not an external antenna)
Or try positioning the external antenna if that's an option.
Turning on Attenuation for that frequency may actually help as well. (Worth a shot anyway)
Trying different filter settings may help, but you'd need to experiment with each setting one at a time to see which is most beneficial if any..
Also there's the IFX setting to try as well.

I’m comparing to a Broadcastify feed of the same feed that sounds as clear as a digital talk group. Sometimes the hiss is so bad you can’t make out the voices.
You really can't compare your reception on any given frequency to a Broadcastify feed. That is unless the feed is originating from your next door neighbor who happens to be using the same scanner and antenna as you are. As @Whiskey3JMC posted, the static sounds normal for an analog signal, especially if transmitting from some distance. You may be at the outer perimeter of the transmitter range whereas the feed your hearing is much closer to the tower. Different performance characteristics of your SDS100 vs the feed broadcaster's scanner will also cause differences in reception. Lastly, while you may be using the provided OEM antenna, the feed provider may be using an external antenna mounted above his house which will certainly affect their reception.

Whether I am on my SDS-100 outside and away from most electrical interference or the SDS-200 and an external antenna, here in the NW Maricopa county area, I get static.

I have taken to avoiding the frequency since it is so noisy.
