Cool, I don't know of any "heavies" that have ever used PQL The TEAL or HOBBY Hercs mill about every great once in a while in or near enough to the airspace to keep in touch with the tower periodically, but that's about it. Got TEXANs, DOLPHINs and JAYHAWKs, out the wazoo though. LOL

I used to hear the SPOOKYs and others doing training ops, but now it seems they are always encrypted.

314.4 - DARKSTAR, JAZZ's, and RACER's up to something. JAZZ sounds mostly like their "normal" CAP stuff, but then I've heard some talk about GBU-31's. Walked into the middle of this, so not sure exactly wtf is going on. That freq actually came from an Eglin list, and 314.3 has been the "normal" JAZZ freq, for a while, so maybe actually two different ops, and somebody "crossed the streams?" LOL
>>09:57 - Now hearing a few calls from MUSKET 1

284.050 - JAZZ?/REX? A/A
261.2 - Some traffic from REX

10:20 - 282.600 - NORAD - DRAGNET up to something
10:25 - 229.825 - ???
10:34 - 262.750 - ???
10:43 - 278.700 - VT-86 TAC 25 - BROADSWORD setting up T-45s using BAT callsigns to blow **** up around Silverhill, AL
10:50 - 278.750 - AR302 - AE0658 | PIRAT51 | 59-1462 setting up to receive AE11E9 | SNTRY60H | 79-0003

Shelby on 149.875?

I'm in in S. La. and a couple of times I've heard flights calling Shelby on this freq of 149.875 AM. Recently heard Elvis flight (C-5?) calling Shelby.

Can anyone confirm this is Camp Shelby in Mississippi?

I can not confirm it at Shelby, but Aux Field, but i have 233.2 range control also 142.6 PTD,138.2 PTD,i am showing 241.00 UHF and 126.2 for the main strip which is 5,000 feet, the aux field has an assault strip which can handle 2 C-17 at a time. Memphis have got rid of all their C-5 and now have C-17,ELVIS.

What is "Shelby LDSO" 149.875

Heard comms on this freq again, this time it was N477JB (Gulfstream owner by Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer) calling "Shelby LDSO" several times with no joy.

Anyone?

Posting this here because there is no real need for a new thread.

Radio scanners are banned at the April 21-22, 2018 ‘Wings Over Columbus’ Airshow at Columbus Air Force Base. Specifically the line in banned items list reads "Walkie-talkies, HAM radios & scanners."

Event Info - Columbus AFB Open House/Air & Space Show

Sadly, with the crash and fatality of one of the USAF Thunderbirds, the show may be canceled. I’m sure the Thunderbirds will not appear if it isn’t.
