When I heard 18-46046 inbound to ADW a few days ago they said they had a couple visitors that would be waiting for them and may need an escort to the plane. One was a MSgt, the other a civilian.

See RCH481T C-17 00-0175 McGuire to Pease and now back to Quantico today.
Guess fetching chopper from cancelled campaign visit up there.

Watching two Greyhawk Navy C-2's doing missed approaches at Wallops Island on adsbX.
Just saw that show on Smithsonian TV channel training C-2 pilots at Wallops and the hundreds of missed approaches they do there before they even let them touch down for weeks.
Then they repeat at night time. Pilot may do 30 missed/low approaches per day. They want to stress you out and see how you handle it.
Then they hit a carrier offshore Atlantic for 10 launches/recoveries later to get their C-2 Wings :)

Try these for Norfolk squadrons. Many haven’t been verified in a few years so if you guys hear them active, let me know.

If you haven't heard, LHD-6 is on fire in San Diego.
Notice lots of white smoke almost the whole time so assume not burning oil but steam heat moisture burn off?
May look worse than it is? On second thought it is bad. Stubborn fire.Drowning it from outside doesn't seem to be working.

SAM 051 (C-32 # 98-0001 ADFEB7 1st AS) off ADW heading northeast.

Is there any correlation between a SAM flight number and who is onboard ? I'm guessing the smaller the flight number the higher up on the Government food chain ? I notice that the backup aircraft following AF1 use SAM45 (45th President), just wondering if there are any other obvious ones ?

In the old days (mid-90's) the SAM number corresponded with the acft tail number, i.e. SAM 404 = 99-0404. But they changed that system years ago (I guess they got wise) and now as far as I know (maybe someone else has more info) the SAM numbers are random starting at 0XX & progressing through 9XX before starting over, SAM45 being an exception.

It seems the 757s/737s use the 2 digit numbers with high ranking officials onboard, but I have not followed them that close. (Don't want any black helicopters visiting my house).

1015- 82-8000 doing training at ADW, then says heading to MDT, VENUS01

A busy 2 weeks checking Airport instruments on bases that get a lot of US Mil traffic.
